Shri Subhash Shirodkar, Hon’ble Minister for Water Resource Development, inaugurated the event and presented a vision for a greener future. He stressed the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility towards the environment. The Chief Guest – Shri Mauvin Godinho, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Panchayats & Transport, emphasised the need to connect government policies with real innovation particularly stressing that sustainability is not just about plans but about small, everyday choices we make.

The most moving moments came from Dr. Prakash Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte, founders of Lok Biradari Prakalp, who shared their decade-long experiences in serving tribal communities and environmental well-being. Their stories deeply moved all those who were present, offering a quiet but powerful reminder that real change begins with humility, purpose and empathy.

The Launch of BIO STP PLUS – A Solution for Sustainable Living

A highlight of the inaugural day was the formal launch of the BIO STP PLUS, a compact, plug-and-play sewage treatment plant designed specifically for villas, small restaurants, farmhouses and off-grid establishments. EP Biocomposites Ltd. launched this product on World Environment Day and the inauguration was done by Shri Subhash Shirodkar and Dr. Prakash Amte. The launch drew widespread interest from government officials, environmental experts, architects and sustainability professionals across sectors. This compact STP offers an efficient alternative to conventional septic tanks while promoting water reuse and circular sanitation practices.

Shri Pradip Sarmokadam – a champion of biodiversity and indigenous ecological knowledge, was felicitated for his tireless efforts in safeguarding the natural heritage of Goa.
